Description
The Kohana maxi dress with embroidery, it features snap closures and a removable belt. The embroidery elements were taken from the collections of the Honchar Museum, and each ornament has its own unique history.
Made with a large amount of hand-craft, the dress is decorated with colorful tassels and hand stitches. With an ancient ornament called the “Tree of Life,” done in the chain stitch technique (known as “ancient tamburna”), it gives volume to the ornament and has an entirely clean reverse side. This ornament is typical for central Ukraine, especially the Poltava region.
The symbolism of the ornament represents the endless continuation of the family line, the connection between generations, family well-being, and prosperity. It serves as a family protection. Tassels and fringes are dynamic elements that fill the space and serve a protective function. In ancient times, wide sleeves were characteristic only of men’s festive shirts.
Better to use dry cleaning and handle with love and care.
